Ginger Tincture
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup fresh ginger root
  • 2 cups high-proof alcohol (e.g., vodka or grain alcohol)

INSTRUCTIONS
Wash and peel the fresh ginger root, then chop it into small pieces.  Place the ginger in a glass jar and pour the alcohol over it. Seal the  jar tightly and gently shake to combine. Store in a cool, dark place for  4-6 weeks, shaking occasionally. Once the steeping period is over,  strain the tincture, squeezing the ginger to extract all the liquid.  Transfer the tincture to a dark glass dropper bottle, label it, and  store in a cool place.
