Gum Syrup
INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup white gum arabic
  • 1 cup water

INSTRUCTIONS
Bring the water to a boil.  Remove the pan from the heat and dissolve the sugar & white gum arabic powder in the water.  Stir until the sugar and gum arabic are completely dissolved.  Cool completely before using or storing. Strain through a fine metal mesh strainer into bottles or mason jars.  Refrigerate up to 2 weeks.

NOTES
When fully dissolved the liquid will be clear and not cloudy.  Strain while hot if  you have any solids when finished.  Remove any film that may develop on the top.  This typically will only happen with certain sugars.
